You are facing a situation — a leadership change, a regulatory inquiry, a reputational threat — that requires senior judgment, not a junior team and a contact report.

RommComm™
For leaders who cannot afford to be surprised by what they should have seen coming.
Every message reflects the genuine voice of the leader and the institution.
Complexity confuses. Simplicity persuades.
Sensitive matters remain private. Always.
Advice you can rely on when reputations are at stake.
Our Proposition
Clearly. Honestly. Without institutional self-interest, without a second client whose interests quietly conflict with yours, and without the delay that comes from running every recommendation through five committee layers.
That is the difference between ordinary advice and real advice. Advice can be purchased anywhere. Real advice requires a relationship — and a relationship requires independence.
The Difference
Advice that speaks clearly across divides — political, cultural, institutional — because it is rooted in principle rather than ideology.
The large advisory firms each own an idea: trust, scale, convening power, common ground. What none of them can credibly claim is genuine independence — from party, from ideology, from institutional tribe. RommComm™ was built for the conversation that requires exactly that.
Richard Romm's writing has appeared in the Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph, Washington Times, and The Friend. Editors across the ideological range have chosen to print his work — not despite his independence, but because of it.
Two decades of advisory work across Washington and London, the Gulf and the transatlantic world. Each operating in a different political and cultural context — and each requiring genuine credibility, not borrowed authority.
No party affiliation. No competing client in your sector. No institutional incentive to elongate the engagement. A political independent by conviction, advising without the constraints that come from belonging to any tribe.
Who We Work With
RommComm™ is not the right fit for every situation. We are the right fit for a specific kind of leader in a specific kind of moment. The following may help you recognise whether that is you.
You are facing a situation — a leadership change, a regulatory inquiry, a reputational threat — that requires senior judgment, not a junior team and a contact report.
You need frank advice, not reassurance. You are not looking for someone to tell you what you want to hear. You want someone who will tell you what they actually think.
Confidentiality is not a preference — it is a requirement. The matter cannot be discussed inside the organisation, and cannot become known outside it.
The situation spans cultures, institutions, or political environments. You need someone equally credible to Western and Gulf audiences, to progressive and conservative stakeholders.
Speed matters. Large agency structures — with their layers of approval and competing client priorities — are not the right fit for where you are and what you need.
You are an executive, a board, or a principal — not a communications department looking to outsource a campaign. You need a thinking partner, not a vendor.
"The advice most leaders need is rarely the advice they are given — because most advisors are too corporate, too conflicted, or too cautious to give it."
If you are navigating something sensitive that your current advisors are not positioned to address honestly, this is what RommComm™ was built for.
A note on our model: A boutique, founder-led practice with no fixed offices and a deliberate network of senior advisors in each market. We do not have a London office. We have a London presence — which is often more useful. Where our clients operate, we operate.
No obligation. No sales process.

Our global advisors bring deep experience across energy, financial services, government, strategic communications, international development, media, real estate, and more.
Our experience includes work with governments, multinationals, investors, cultural institutions, and nonprofit organizations across the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East.

"In a world of noise, we provide clarity. In a world of spin, we offer authenticity."
— Richard M. Romm, Founder
About the Founder
Richard M. Romm is an American-born, UK-based strategic communications advisor with more than two decades of experience advising executives, boards, and institutions navigating complexity, crisis, and reputational risk. He founded RommComm™ on a single premise: that the advice most leaders need is rarely the advice they are given.
His career spans Washington and London, the Gulf and the broader transatlantic world. He has advised multilateral institutions including the World Bank and the IFC; global corporations including Siemens and Ralph Lauren; sovereign initiatives including Red Sea Global and the Royal Commission for AlUla; and the New Jersey State Legislature. His work has required him to be equally credible to Western and Gulf audiences, to political progressives and conservatives, to institutional leaders and independent operators.
That experience positions him as a transatlantic-Gulf bridge: a senior advisor who can navigate Western regulatory, media, and institutional landscapes on behalf of sovereign investors and Gulf-based initiatives — and who can translate Gulf priorities into language that resonates in London and Washington. At a moment when Vision 2030, UAE global investments, and sovereign wealth deployment are reshaping the world economy, that bridge is not a metaphor. It is an operational advantage.
That cross-cultural, transpartisan reach is not an accident. Richard describes himself as transatlantic in identity and politically independent by conviction — a former Democrat who found that serious advisory work requires freedom from any party line, ideological tribe, or institutional loyalty beyond the client in front of him. His frank, independent advice is both his professional method and his personal standard.
Richard Romm's writing has appeared in a diverse array of news outlets, ranging from The Washington Post and The Washington Times to the Daily Telegraph, the Daily Mail, and The Daily Targum. His perspective has been featured in the Quaker journal The Friend and regional mainstays like the Courier-Post. That range is intentional. His credibility across the ideological and cultural spectrum is not incidental to his advisory work—it is the foundation of it. Editors print his letters and commentary because he makes sense, not noise.
RommComm™ operates with no fixed offices — a deliberate choice that reflects where the work actually happens. Where our clients operate, we operate: London, Washington, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, and wherever the next conversation needs to take place.
"What distinguishes real advice is the willingness to say the difficult thing — before the crisis, not after."
What We Do
Each engagement is different. But every one of them starts with the same commitment: frank, senior-level advice that serves your interests and no one else's.
Comprehensive communication strategies aligned with your objectives and the realities of your situation.
Someone who has read the room in Washington boardrooms and Gulf ministries — and who will tell you what the message actually needs to be, not what sounds good in a presentation.
Orchestrating outcomes under pressure when reputational risk threatens fiduciary duty and stakeholder confidence.
Boards do not need guidance in a crisis. They need someone who can steady the course, secure stakeholder trust, and ensure the institution emerges stronger — with the judgment to know when silence is the only correct response.
Building strong relationships with key media outlets and positioning your voice where it matters.
As a published writer himself, Richard understands how editors think, what journalists need, and why authenticity in a quote is worth more than a polished but hollow statement.
Establishing the leader as a credible, trusted, and distinctive voice in their sector or market.
Leaders are often invisible until something goes wrong. Richard works with you before that happens — building a public presence that is grounded, substantive, and genuinely yours.
Identifying, mapping, and engaging the audiences who shape your organisation's environment.
Stakeholder relationships that look simple on an org chart are often anything but. Richard brings a practitioner's understanding of who actually holds influence — and how to reach them honestly.
Orchestrating the communications and stakeholder dimensions of executive change to protect continuity and board-level confidence.
Leadership transitions are fiduciary moments. Mishandled, they destroy institutional trust. Handled with strategic care, they reinforce it. Richard ensures the first 72 hours set the trajectory for years.
AI is an infinite market, but the majority of business owners do not know how to use it. Within the next few years, AI will likely cut workforces by 25–50%. We act as a Help Agent and AI Guru available to SMEs virtually — helping firms make money or save money by optimising how they use AI to stay ahead of the competition.
Unlike standard PR associations, RommComm™ offers technical AI optimisation and monthly problem-solving agents. We do not just advise on communication — we deploy practical AI solutions that deliver measurable operational advantage.
Strategic guidance during executive or board change.
Advisory support during investigations or regulatory pressure.
Managing media exposure and protecting stakeholder confidence.
Strategic advisory during high-visibility operational or reputational events.
Confidential discussion to understand the situation.
Assessment of risks, stakeholders, and options.
Development of a structured strategic approach.
Guidance as the strategy is executed.
Each engagement is tailored to your specific situation, ensuring strategic guidance that addresses your unique challenges and objectives.
How We Engage
You call because something has gone wrong — or because something is about to, and you can feel it. Maybe a story is heading toward you that you cannot stop but might be able to shape. Maybe a leadership transition has suddenly become public before you were ready. Maybe a regulator has asked questions that require an answer by Thursday, and the lawyers are already telling you what not to say rather than what to say. You are not looking for a presentation. You are looking for clarity.
The first conversation is direct. No intake forms, no junior team taking notes, no "I'll circle back after I've briefed the team." Richard picks up. He asks the right questions — not to gather information for a proposal, but because understanding the actual situation, quickly and accurately, is the work. Within the first thirty minutes, most clients say the same thing: "I haven't been able to talk to anyone about this properly until now."
Engagements are structured around your situation, not around a standard retainer model. Some are short and intensive — a crisis week, a leadership announcement, a media storm that passes in ten days. Others are longer, quieter, ongoing: the kind of senior advice that sits behind the decisions rather than in front of them. The level of access is the same either way.
"Initial conversations are held in strict confidence — no obligation, no formal process, no sales pitch."

Client Experience
"Richard was brought in during a high-profile public event for which the communications strategy had broken down two weeks before launch. He restructured our messaging, briefed the key stakeholders personally, and provided real-time advisory on the ground. The event was covered positively in regional and international press. More importantly, a situation that could have become a reputational liability became a reputational asset. I have not worked with anyone else who combines that level of strategic judgment with the ability to operate under pressure without drama."

The New Coalition
The Populist
How an unlikely alliance between the populist left and populist right is reshaping American politics — and what it means for the working class on both sides of the Atlantic.
This inaugural issue examines the Sanders-Hawley-AOC-Luna credit cap coalition, the bipartisan war on congressional stock trading, and what these fractures reveal about the real fault line in democratic governance: not left versus right, but the protected insider versus the unprotected outsider.
